Michigan voted 40% uncommitted. These were clearly not for Clinton.
The
vote was mostly on name recognition as it was in Florida. If Obama
wins
sufficiently in the remaining states then let Michigan be split 60/40
for Clinton
so that the state isn't disenfranchised by their local party
politics. Likewise,
do some statistical analysis of Florida Democrats that didn't vote and
make
a judged allocation. Work out a deal where the superdelegates make
things
right. It's important that people in Michigan and Florida don't feel
disenfranchised
while at the same time not giving an unfair advantage to Clinton for
what looks
to the rest of the states as cheating. Winning the primary isn't
everything.
I've slowly inched away from Clinton to Obama. I wouldn't mind
Clinton winning
if it looked like it represented the will of the people but I'm afraid
the boomers'
time has come and gone. We didn't get the years the depression babies
did
but 24 years is generally a generation. Both Clintons will make good
elderly
statesmen (gender neutrality implied in the term). While I would have
loved to
see Hillary as president, I wouldn't want to see her get the
nomination in a slimy
way.
