Simply put, they're not. On the same token too much of the management
at GM is knocking down six digit incomes who aren't worth 1/3 of it.
Take a good look at GM's financials. If GM's management couldn't see
several rounds of oil spikes--especially in the politically unstable
markets in and around Middle east OPEC countries and not to mention
the crazy in Venezuela, then something tells me their management is
not very bright or has any clue of what is going on in an industry
that literally fuels their products. Which should be of paramount
concern. They should have also been looking at China's growing
consumption in oil. Oil is a finite commodity. Once that shit is
gone--it's gone. So.......in a nutshell, if they got caught with a
bunch of gas guzzlers in their inventory as oil prices skyrocketed,
they have nobody to blame but themselves. The real irony here is any
community college student who successfully completed macroeconomics
101 would have enough supply and demand insight to see this shit
coming. And you mean to tell me GM's goddamed MBAs they snapped up
from Wharton, Harvard, Michigan State, and other prestigious schools
in no way could have seen this? This should tell everyone what
exactly their management is made of and recognize the pricks for the
worthless pieces of shit they are.. Of course, with the fine
accomplishments they can paste in their resume for the time they
worked there, do you think human resources from well run companies
like Honda, Toyota, Nissan, etc... are going to take them on?
So the short side of it is, if they want to keep working at GM, then
they better make the same sacrifices as they expect from their their
employees. Not asking for much of anything except being fair and
responsible.
My argument is, if labor is earmarked to take a hit, then the same
goes for management. Let all company sacrifices happen across the
board. And that doesn't mean huge bonuses at the end of every quarter
to make up their cuts. Get the company financially sound and move
forward.
