It's still coal. There is no "un" natural resource.
And it's still the necessary raw material in some manufacturing process.
Now, isn't it in the best interest of the manufacturer to secure their
ability to obtain the necessary raw materials for their manufacturing
processes? And if that is in their interest, wouldn't buying land (or
buying mineral rights or options) be in their interest to help secure access
to those materials - and - to minimize cost fluctuations in their costs down
the road? And if so, then wouldn't the ability to obtain and enforce
"rights" to the property and it's underlying resources be of importance?
